For over 40 years, the design of senior living communities has been an important part of CJMW Architecture’s work. Our primary design strength is in finding creative solutions to our clients’ needs, and our projects exhibit a lot of variety because each is a response to a specific set of challenges. We bring operational understanding and a cost-aware approach to each project, whether master planning, interior and architectural design, or strategic planning.

Our firm has been nationally recognized for its innovative design for seniors - the first AIA/AAHSA Design for Aging Review in 1992 featured our design at Brookridge Retirement community for what is now called "household" or "neighborhood" design. We are especially proud of the fact that many of these projects have been for repeat clients; we believe this is a strong indication that our clients have been pleased with the quality of our work and services. Our work includes continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), independent living, nursing care, assisted living units, and special care units for Alzheimer’s care.
